Caterpillar mushroom
Cordyceps sinensis This potent adaptogenic mushroom is renowned from the high mountain plateaus of Tibet throughout Asia, and now here in the US. In the mountains, wild-crafters call it summer-plant, winter-worm, as it was not classified as a botanical until the mushroom fruiting body appeared out of the former head of a caterpillar. Cordycep mushrooms great importance and scarcity led to its being consumed exclusively by the Emperor in ancient times, to nourish the body's life essence. Cordycep mushroom's celebrated popularity has endured for centuries all over Asia, in formulas where ginseng was needed: to enhance endurance and speed, and to combat fatigue, and recover from exhaustion. Cordyceps has adaptogenic properties that enhance stamina, reduce symptoms of fatigue, support adrenal function, and energize various body systems. Significant amounts of Adensoine are found in Cordyceps, along with other nucleosides and interesting polysaccharides. Analysis of our cultivated Cordyceps material using nucleosides as markers compares very well with wild-crafted Cordyceps sinensis currently priced well over $600.00kg. Please note that our Mushroom Mycelial biomass is not grown using caterpillars, nor are any caterpillar parts used in the substrate material. The scientists, who cultivated our Cordyceps product, have developed an organic, whole-grain substrate material and coached the Cordyceps mycelium to adapt to the new growth medium. The spawn culture of this Cordyceps sinensis was obtained from a master culture painstakingly harvested by the world famous mushroom researcher Malcom Clark during an expedition in 12,000 ft. Nepalese mountain valleys in the Himalayas. Studies have shown a range of biological activities including:
